Back to the drawing board
So much to do, so little time.
I have two Pelican Viper Kayaks for sale, their Sit-On-Top Kayaks. I will take $300 for them both (includes paddles, an extra skeg, and some extra parts), or $160 each. They're light blue, and lots of fun. I've gotten a canoe though to replace them, and need the space in the garage. :-) I'll also be listing them on craigslist btw.
I need to finish the garden, and will need to start my tomato plants soon. Likely going to plant my new dwarf trees this weekend and cover them with plastic.
I am back to drawing. I drew a bookmark for myself today with my new prismacolor markers. I had 13 from college, which dried out, and I had a few other art markers which suffered the same fate. So I replaced them with a 48 set that I would have died for in college. It didn't include ANY gray markers though, so I will have to get some of those, some vellum, and some other supplies (like a decent eraser). I also need to locate my sharpies, I have a big set of thick and fine line ones. While not as good as the prismacolors, they are versatile for some projects.
I'm planning to do some watercolor illustration as well, just have to do some preliminary sketches of what I have been thinking of.
My dad's health is continuing to decline, he needs prayers. I am very heartsick and worried about him. I am hoping for the best. But he said today he is having vision problems, and experiencing dizziness. He won't go to the doctor, and his next appointment is next month. I have to help him with his taxes this weekend. So I am going to talk to him about trying to move that up.
I also need to get serious about my diet again, and to begin exercising. My Achilles is healed and I am regaining strength in the leg, I just need to walk the dogs some and ride my bicycle to get it back up to par and shed all the weight I gained since last years back and Achilles injuries.
Oh, and my webhost fixed the issues. :-)

Cloverfield is a love story
Saw Cloverfield this
morning at the Rave at
12:31 am.
SPOILERS FOLLOW:
Everyone knows the movie is a monster movie, that's been known for a while. It's ALSO a love story and a tragedy. There are three love stories going on in the movie, each one ends tragically due to the events and destruction wrought by the monster as it ravages Manhattan. The movie is VERY jerky at the beginning, it's shot using a camcorder perspective... I felt VERY ill during the first 5 to 10 minutes due to how the camera was being handled. Since most of the film is shot from a first person perspective of the cameraman, Hud, it is VERY much like playing a First Person Shooter.
When you throw in the parasites, and the monster, and the military and all of the destruction you feel like you're playing Half-Life with some sort of super graphics. Especially where the characters move from environment to environment, like in the apartment, then to the street, electronic store (to stock up on batteries for a cell phone), alleys, subway, subway tunnels, a maintenance room, a mall shop, then up an apartment building and over to one which is leaning against it, etc... Very game like, very unreal because it is SO realistic. The monster is slowly revealed throughout the movie, but by the end I felt the creature was a bit unrealistic, as it didn't take much if any damage from the modern weapons being hurled against it.
All in all though, if you like FPS games, and are a Half-Life fan you should like this movie. The special effects are excellent, and the story and the way the characters react is very realistic. It's worth going to see at least once, and if I can pick it up cheap on DVD in a couple of years I'll likely end up watching it in slow motion! :-)

Creative Outlet
Over eight years ago I met my ex-wife. I graduated from college with a degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. In college I took a lot of fine art classes along with my graphic design classes. I really enjoyed watercolors when combined with india ink. I used to do a bunch of 3D work. When I got married there wasn't much time for creative outlets, and frankly I didn't mind. Since I am divorced though, I have started doodling again during meetings and have been wanting a set of watercolor paints again desperately.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of tube watercolor paints, some brushes, watercolor blocks, and loose watercolor paper today.
Anyway, below are some OLD watercolor works I have in my office at work that I did in college. They have been in storage for probably 12 years or so.
