PoF Sucks
I hate to be a spoil sport, but plentyoffish.com makes me angry. I created a profile, and it got deleted. I didn't violate the TOS, played by the rules... and boom my profile was wiped. So I created a new one, which lasted maybe 3 days max, and it was deleted... So I quit, forget it. Plenty of Fish just isn't worth it, apparently the admin/site owner is a shark and likes eating fish! While I'm on a rant, let me say that eHarmony stinks because it's expensive, and you can't even tell if there are legitimate profiles locally or if they're bogus ones in the system, and Match.com doesn't have anyone locally who is actually active. If any of these sites wanted to gain membership FAST they'd at the very least allow free profile viewing (Match.com), free photograph viewing on their profiles for non-paying members (eHarmony), and free return e-mail/contact replies to other members whether or not you're a paying user (Match.com and eHarmony). I am so frustrated at having to recreate my profile on PoF multiple times I'm just not going to do it again.
AUGH!
I'll stick to watercolor painting, riding my motorcycle, and hanging out with my friends. I'll have to be content with RL (Real Life) for now.

Motorcycle Warm Up
Quick entry for Christmas Day, fast and to the point.
Buell Blast, warmed up the bike today. Had to let the gas soak into the carb and then the bike started right up, checked the air in the tires and took it for the South Odom loop ride, out down Maumelle Blvd. and to the Highway headed North towards Conway, and off the second Maumelle exit and home. Good little ride, got the bike warmed up and I checked the oil.
Vulcan 750, warmed up the bike, took it for the South Odom loop and to the gas station as the tank was low, and filled it up with premium. I got around a little over 60 mpg out of the last fill up! :-)

Waking up alone, on Christmas Day
This is the first time in 8 years or so that I've woken up alone on Christmas day. Normally Santa stays the night, but he had to get back to the North Pole so I understand. (Hah).
We had Christmas Dinner last night, my dad, sister and her family, and my friend Courtney came over. Everyone left by about 9:00 or so, and I went to bed. We had a turkey, ham, mashed potatos, green bean casserole (stick of butter, yuck!), macaroni and cheese, gravy, rolls, cranberry mash, dressing, creamed corn, apple pie, pecan pie, two pumpkin pies, iced tea, etc... It's too much food. Dad insisted on all the side dishes, I would have been satisfied with a turkey, dressing, mashed potatos, green beans (without the stick of butter), gravy, and rolls, and one pie. Now I've got a fridge full of leftovers I have to figure out how to tackle and no room for any normal groceries! Augh.
Anyway, if i can just warm up enough to start moving I have a lot of work to do around here.

Christmas for my little Buell / My gal pal Courtney
The Buell got it's battery topped off today, I put the charger on it and tomorrow I'll charge up the Vulcan's battery.
I also cleaned the house today, put away my laundry, dishes, etc... as my family will be here for Christmas Eve, so the house won't seem so empty. That'll help me a bit.
I went to lunch today with my friend Courtney after church. She's a wonderful friend, a great girl. She went through a divorce this year as well, and it's good to have someone to talk to about the things that have happened. She is the one that got me going to Church at New Life, and I'm really thankful for her friendship. She's an awesome photographer, and a real blessing to me. I haven't had a wonderful female friend since before I got married and I broke off my friendship with my friend Jennifer so I could devote my all to my relationship with Marie.
It's refreshing to have a female friend, who I can bounce ideas off and get a hug from once in a while... and also who I can do guy things for once in a while (like fixing her broken glasses the other night). She went with me to JC Penney's last week to pick out new glasses, and she wants to be my fashion consultant since I dress like a dork (hah). Jeans and T-Shirts are pretty much all I have ever known, and if I'm to find someone to spend my life with again someday I guess I need to be stylish. I know for certain I do not want to be alone the rest of my life, but sometimes I wonder if I'd be better off that way.
Personal Ads
Well, I have put up a personal ad on a dating site at the recommendation of my friend Courtney. I looked at Match.com, and eHarmony.com.
Both of those have their issues, they cost money for one... and eHarmony doesn't even allow you to see the pictures of people who are interested... or if they are paying members since on eHarmony only paying members can contact and respond to messages. They don't have any information which indicates how many of your matches are paying members who can even respond, so what's the point.
I ended up creating a profile at plentyoffish.com, it's free... and I probably will just keep my profile out there and see what happens. I made a DORKY one... Because I might as well represent myself as who I really am, eh? Here's the verbiage from the ad/profile:
About Me:
Tall, dark and dorky fellow in a dark coat and
fedora but no bullwhip; seeks fabulous female who is looking for
romance, friendship, and more. Must have a Heart of Gold, a
compassionate long-dark teatime of the soul, and a prototcol droids
ability to communicate and work out issues as they occur. I prefer tea
to coffee, but will indulge your need for java if you'll indulge my need
for brownian motion in the form of: "Earl Grey Tea, Hot." I'm a sucker
for redheads and brunettes with medium to long wavelength hair, but do
blondes really have more fun? Whatever the color of your hair, maybe I
can take you for a jaunt on my motorcycle if we hit it off.
First Date
An ideal first date would be meeting for coffee or
tea to break the ice. Provided that isn't rudely interrupted by some
villainous scoundrel, and if there is some chemistry or interest in
continuing the conversation than maybe out for sushi, chinese, italian,
or whatever we're craving. I know this great little restaurant which is
a bit out of the way, but it's the best in the universe.
Anyway, that should scare off anyone who doesn't want to date a dorky, eclectic like myself. :-)
